Mentoring

Mentoring Program

Over the last few years, WISH established a tradition of a strong mentorship program in which junior investigators can apply to be paired with mentors selected among distinguished members of the research communities and industry thought leaders. We will continue this tradition and implement the mentorship program throughout the symposium with paired lunches and round table discussions focused on mentoring junior colleagues.

We invite undergraduate and graduate students from any field of study related to improving healthcare to apply to the mentoring program at WISH 2019. Even within a friendly and inviting community like WISH, it can be difficult for the up and comers to get a word in with our most senior members. The mentoring program is designed to provide one-on-one opportunities for interactions among our members that may not otherwise happen.

Students will be paired with a mentor based on research areas, career paths, and other topics of interest. The organizers will orchestrate meetings between students and their mentors during the WISH workshop, and mentors will take their students out to lunch. After the workshop, we hope you’ll run into one another again during CHI and have a new friendly face to say hello to.

We believe that the best mentoring relationships happen organically. While the mentoring program does not formally extend past WISH, we hope participants will keep one another in mind in the future and we thank them for contributing to strengthening ties within the WISH community.

To apply to the mentoring program, please complete this form by March 31st 2019.
